Where you are

Surroundings

You’re in El Perelló, in the Baix Ebre. The house is outside the village, down a track, and the sea is ten minutes away.

The surroundings

El Perelló is not a place you drive through

Step outside and, within half an hour, you have three landscapes that look nothing alike. Here they are, one by one.

Santa Llúcia, Cala Moros, Cala Buena The sea · 5 km of coast

Santa Llúcia, Cala Moros, Cala Buena

Three of El Perelló’s coves, and not the only ones. They are small, nothing is built around them, and the GR-92 coastal path threads one to the next along the cliff edge. In August it pays to get up early; the rest of the year there is often nobody at all.

El Morral, right behind the house Mountains · 754 m

El Morral, right behind the house

The Morral de Cabrafeixet is the highest point in the municipality, and it sits literally at your back. At its foot are the Cabrafeixet rock paintings: nine thousand years old, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Up and back down takes a morning.

Discover the Ebro Delta

The hills give way to a plain with nothing to block the view. In May the flooded rice fields work like a mirror; by September it has all turned yellow. The flamingos are there almost year-round. You go by boat along the river or by bike along the tracks, which are flat and never seem to end.
